I have a big birthday coming up. We have no money...having two kids in daycare and ridiculous student loans, we are lucky we can feed ourselves. :) But I put together a list of a few things I might like should you feel so inclined. Or maybe I'm just starting a wishlist for myself so I know what I want and where to find it. I mean, Christmas is coming up too...
In no particular order...
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1
I want a tablet, and shockingly, I want to try something that isn't an Apple product. This tablet is awesome and comes with a Photoshop program built in. Yes please.
Sewing Machine
I know this may sound crazy to a lot of people, but I kinda want to learn how to sew well enough that I can make a few things for the kids, myself, Justin or the house. I already have a few ideas in mind and life would be a lot easier with a simple, relatively inexpensive sewing machine. :)
35mm Nikkor Lens
As you know, I love photography. Recently, I've been practicing a lot and truly want to try to become good enough I can make a small business on the side. I love taking pictures of people, my kids in particular. My kids like my camera and tend to get a little to close to me while trying to take pictures. This lens will allow me to include a little more in the photographs when they are all up in my grill. :)
Coach Bag
As you all may or may not know, I love Coach. I love their purses, a lot. I'm a snob. So you really can't go wrong with...
This one
Or this one
Or this one
So there it is. I will also accept money so I can take some more photography classes/workshops. ;)

Family
There is something totally awesome about watching your husband with your child...like yesterday. Kayla and I had to get up early to head to the airport for our trip to Chicago to visit my family. I fed her when she woke up at about 4 or so and after I fed her she fell asleep on our bed. I decided it was ok to cuddle with her for an hour or so before we had to leave. I gently scooted her a little closer to her dad, and what followed, I really wish I had a picture of. Justin, half asleep put his arm over Kayla's teeny body (she was lying on her left side, as was he) like he was spooning her, his hand flat on the bed. She, also half asleep, sort of settled right into her dad and then gently placed her right hand flat, right on top of Justin's. I would give anything to have a picture of that scene!
There is also something almost equally as awesome about seeing the people you love (your family and friends) interact with and love your daughter. It's obvious that Justin and I love her, and I just assume everyone else does as well. My parents are totally doting over their first grandchild, and my sisters can't get enough. My brother had a slightly different situation. He hadn't gotten to meet Kayla until this weekend. He talked to her on skype when she was little, but he was in California over the winter. He is the youngest of four and the only boy, and I've been wondering how he would be with Kayla. When we got here yesterday he immediately emerged from the bedroom and took her from Lauren, which was awesome to see. Since then, there has been a lot of activity, but today, the magic happened! :)
My dad and my Nanny went to church when Lauren and I returned from a walk with Kayla and Layla. Lauren was in the shower and my mom went to change Kayla in the living room where Brendan was. After she finished, she and I started to get some things together to give Kayla a bath, leaving Kayla on the floor in the living room with Brendan alone. It only took about 2 seconds for Brendan to pick her right up off the floor and talk to her. Then he put her down and started making funny faces and noises at her and she was just giggling... I guess I just expected my sisters (probably because they are women) to just adore my baby, but seeing my little brother adore her is extra special!
I just love seeing the people dear to me love my daughter. Sort of like my favorite blogger talked about here.
As she so eloquently put it.."Can I get an "amen" for how good it feels to watch your friends love your babies? These kids are my heart and when you love them, you consequently just found yourself a deeper place in my own heart. Likewise, to let my friends know I love them...sometimes loving their kids is the best place to start." -Kelle Hampton

Things I love...
about Kayla. She and I had a hard week, but after having a talk with a friend, I decided I needed to look at the whole situation differently. I am enjoying every moment I get to spend with her, even when it's 1 or 2 in the morning, and I am realizing how many things about her I just love. So I thought I would make a list...
She sometimes tests my patience, but when she is older, I am going to thank her for teaching me how to be TRULY patient, how to go with the flow, and how to love every single inch of someone unconditionally.
- How crazy her hair is.
- How she smiles with her whole face and her eyes squint up a little bit.
- The noises she makes when trying to poop
- The hilarious faces she makes, like puckering her lips right before bed time every night
- The way she smiles when she is falling asleep, even if she is sucking on her pacifier
- The way she "talks" to me
- How she gently places her hand right next to her face on my boob when I'm feeding her
- How she loves to "stand up"
- That she loves to watch T.V. (even all the sports with Daddy)
- How she becomes like a limp noodle when falling asleep
- How she almost always falls asleep when I'm burping her sitting up
- How much she loves being naked
- How content she looks in the bath
- How I FINALLY found a position that seems to almost always calm her down/put her to sleep. It is laying over my shoulder getting her butt patted.
- How she is the BEST cuddler
- How she wrinkles her forehead when she is trying to look up
- How proud she makes me when people tell me how cute she is, how alert she is, how great it is she is following people with her eyes, how strong she is
- How her arms go all crazy when she is really happy/laughing like she is rapping
- How she can always find me when she hears my voice across the room
- Her feet
- How she holds my hand
- That she loves kicking her legs so much she can't keep clothing on
- How she opens her mouth to suck whenever you bring her towards your face, therefore her open-mouthed kisses
- How, even when she is exhausted, she fights to keep her eyelids open because, like her mommy, she hates to miss out on anything
- FINALLY, and honestly I think my favorite thing about Kayla, is that she ALWAYS crosses her little ankles, no matter what she is doing - feeding, standing, laying on her stomach, sitting and talking to me, anything!
She sometimes tests my patience, but when she is older, I am going to thank her for teaching me how to be TRULY patient, how to go with the flow, and how to love every single inch of someone unconditionally.
